Information used on your device
Lightning Launcher Revival ("the App") is an Android home-screen replacement. The App processes information locally to provide launcher features. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- installed-app information, including app names, icons, package identifiers, activities, shortcuts, and widgets;
- launcher layouts, folders, settings, themes, wallpapers, icons, notes, scripts, variables, and other customization data;
- files you select, such as backups, templates, fonts, and images; and
- active media-session information, such as playback state, metadata, queue information, and the media app's package identifier, if you grant Notification Access for media controls.
The App's notification-listener service is used to obtain Android media-session access. The App does not use it to inspect notification contents.
This information normally remains on your device unless you choose to export or share it, or unless technical information is included in a crash or bug report as described below.
Crash and bug reports
When the App crashes, it creates a technical diagnostic report and may transmit it to a private Discord destination controlled by the developer. A report may contain:
- the exception and stack trace;
- Android version, device model and product;
- App package, version name, and version code; and
- aggregate diagnostic information, such as the number of loaded launcher pages, shortcuts, and widgets and approximate memory or drawable sizes.
Crash reports do not intentionally include launcher item names, note or script contents, file contents, contacts, messages, precise location, advertising identifiers, or account credentials. A stack trace or description supplied by a user could nevertheless contain information related to the state of the App at the time of a problem.
Reports are used to diagnose problems, respond to bug reports, improve reliability, and protect the App from abuse. Reports are transmitted using HTTPS. Discord may process the report and ordinary network information, such as an IP address, under Discord's Privacy Policy.
Permissions and optional access
Android controls the App's permissions and special access. Depending on the features you use, these may include file access on older Android versions, direct calling when you activate a phone shortcut, biometric authentication for locally protected launcher content, Notification Access for media controls, display-over-other-apps access for an optional floating launcher, wallpaper access, and notification permission for an optional foreground service.
You may deny or revoke permissions and special access in Android settings. The related feature may then be unavailable, but other parts of the App can continue to work.
Sharing and third parties
The App does not contain advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Information may leave your device in these circumstances:
- technical crash and bug reports may be delivered through Discord;
- content is transferred when you choose to export a backup, share a file, open a link, run a network-capable script, or connect the App with another app or service; and
- information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse, or protect users, rights, or security.
Scripts, templates, plugins, websites, and other apps you choose to use may have their own data practices and are outside the control of Lightning Launcher Revival.
Retention and deletion
Launcher configuration and other local App data remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Exported files remain in the locations where you chose to store them.
The latest local crash report may remain in the App's private storage until it is replaced by a later report, App storage is cleared, or the App is uninstalled.
Reports received through Discord are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to investigate and document the issue, maintain the App, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Because the App has no user accounts and reports do not use a stable user identifier, you may need to provide the approximate report date, device model, App version, and issue description so that a report can be located for a deletion request.
Security
Local information is stored within Android's App storage or in locations you select. Off-device crash-report transmission uses encrypted HTTPS. Access to the developer's crash-report destination is restricted. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but reasonable safeguards are used for the limited information involved.
Children's privacy
The App is a general-purpose customization tool and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please contact us if you believe a child submitted personal information in a report.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the App, its data practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
